The Integrated Territorial Investments of the Koszalińsko-Kołobrzesko-Białogardzki Functional Urban Area

Integrated Territorial Investments are a new financing tool made available by the European Union in the current financial perspective for the years 2014-2020.

In our region, this modern and integrated method to manage regional development functions as the Integrated Territorial Investments of the Koszalińsko-Kołobrzesko-Białogardzki Functional Urban Area, i.e. a partnership of 19 local governments. The City of Koszalin is the Leading Partner.

The purpose of the Partnership is joint management of regional development on the part of the local governments. It supports the local economy, education and pro-environmental actions, including the development of low-carbon transport and the construction of cycle route system.

The following communities are included in the Partnership of the Integrated Territorial Investment of the Koszalińsko-Kołobrzesko-Białogardzki Functional Urban Area: Będzino, Białogard, the City of Białogard, Biesiekierz, Bobolice, Dygowo, Gościno, Karlino, Kołobrzeg, the City of Kołobrzeg, the City of Koszalin, Manowo, Mielno, Polanów, Sianów, Siemyśl, Świeszyno, Tychowo and Ustronie Morskie.

Cooperation and Reaching Common Goals

The Integrated Territorial Investments Strategy sets the objectives of the economic and infrastructural development, which were jointly elaborated by the local governments that form the Koszalińsko-Kołobrzesko-Białogardzki Functional Urban Area: Będzino, Białogard, the City of Białogard, Biesiekierz, Bobolice, Dygowo, Gościno, Karlino, Kołobrzeg, the City of Kołobrzeg, the City of Koszalin, Manowo, Mielno, Polanów, Sianów, Siemyśl, Świeszyno, Tychowo and Ustronie Morskie.

THE INTEGRATED TERRITORIAL INVESTMENT OF THE KOSZALIŃSKO-KOŁOBRZESKO-BIAŁOGARDZKI FUNCTIONAL URBAN AREA IS A REGION THAT BUILDS ITS STRATEGIC POSITION BASING ON  NATURAL ASSETS AND AVAILABLE POTENTIAL.
THIS IS A GOOD PLACE TO LIVE AND TO CONDUCT BUSINESS OWING TO ITS RICH EDUCATION OFFER, ITS DEVELOPING LABOUR MARKET, CONCERN FOR THE NATURAL ENVIRONMENT AND HIGH QUALITY HUMAN CAPITAL.
OWING TO A WELL-DEVELOPED COMMUNICATION NETWORK, THE KOSZALIŃSKO-KOŁOBRZESKO-BIAŁOGARDZKI FUNCTIONAL URBAN AREA FORMS AN INTEGRATED REGION, WHOSE DYNAMIC AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT IS THE RESULT OF MULTIFACETED COOPERATION BETWEEN THE LOCAL GOVERNMENTS, THE LOCAL COMMUNITIES AND THE REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ECONOMY, WHICH IS BASED ON RESPECT, EQUALITY AND CULTIVATION OF THE LOCAL IDENTITY.

The Integrated Territorial Investments Strategy of the Integrated Territorial Investment of the Koszalińsko-Kołobrzesko-Białogardzki Functional Urban Area

The vision of the development of the Integrated Territorial Investments Strategy:    

The most important goals of the Integrated Territorial Investments of the Koszalińsko-Kołobrzesko-Białogardzki Functional Urban Area within the Regional Operational Programme of Zachodniopomorskie Voivodeship include the following:

  • strengthening of the road infrastructure and improvement of road connectivity,
  • creation of effective and integrated public transport, 
  • replacement of the public transport vehicle fleet, 
  • building of multimodal transfer hubs, 
  • extension of available investment areas to enable one to easily start or develop their business, 
  • development of innovative enterprises, 
  • creation of new places in kindergartens, 
  • support offered to primary, junior high school and to vocational education.

The development goals set out in the Strategy of the Integrated Territorial Investments of the Koszalińsko-Kołobrzesko-Białogardzki Functional Urban Area may be fully accomplished through the involvement of the local residents and the companies that are active in the area of the 19 Partner Communities : the City of Koszalin, the City of Kołobrzeg, the City of Białogard as well as the following towns and communities: Będzino, Białogard, Biesiekierz, Bobolice, Dygowo, Gościno, Karlino, Kołobrzeg, Manowo, Mielno, Polanów, Sianów, Siemyśl, Świeszyno, Tychowo, Ustronie Morskie.

The amount of 40 million euro has been allocated within the Regional Operational Programme of Zachodniopomorskie Voivodeship 2014-2020 for the realisation of the integrated investments under the Integrated Territorial Investments of the Koszalińsko-Kołobrzesko-Białogardzki Functional Urban Area in the period of 2014-2020.

The Regional Operational Programme of Zachodniopomorskie Voivodeship 2014-2020

The Regional Operational Programme of Zachodniopomorskie Voivodeship 2014-2020 constitutes one of the methods of the implementation of the Development Strategy of Zachodniopomorskie Voivodeship in the period of 2014-2020.

The support from the Programme focuses on three key areas: economy, infrastructure and society.

Along with the positive approval of the Strategy for the Integrated Territorial Investments of the Koszalińsko-Kołobrzesko-Białogardzki Functional Urban Area by the Executive Board of Zachodniopomorskie Voivodeship on the grounds of Resolution no. 1026/16 dated 2016, June 29th in relation to the financing option of Integrated Territorial Investments under the Regional Operational Programme of Zachodniopomorskie Voivodeship 2014-2020, the Schedule of Projects was updated under non-competitive project selection procedure in order to include projects to be implemented under the Strategy of the Integrated Territorial Investments of the Koszalińsko-Kołobrzesko-Białogardzki Functional Urban Area.
