Koszalin among the stars of Europe

Koszalin belongs to those cities, which have been taking many initiatives to promote the European thought and build the United Europe. Those actions of local community have been prized with honourable distinctions by the Council of Europe: Diploma (1998), the Honorary Flag of the Council of Europe (1999) and Honorary Plaque of Europe awarded to Koszalin in 2001 by virtue of a decision of the Subcommittee on Council of Europe’s European Awards. Such high appreciation of Koszalin international cooperation is the best proof that we are a European city, a well perceived and evaluated international partner by tourists and contractors.

The dwellers of Koszalin  cooperate with city’s twinned cities: Neubrandenburg (Germany), Neumünster (Germany), Berlin Schöneberg-Tempelhof (Germany), Gladsaxe (Denmark), Seinäjoki (Finland), Bourges (France), Lida (Belarus), Kristianstad (Sweden), Fuzhou (China), Albano Laziale (Italy),  Schwedt/Oder (Germany), Iwano-Frankiwsk (Ukraine).

Particular place in Koszalin international contacts occupies cooperation of schools, youths and companies. Some institutions have been maintaining their contacts for nearly 40 years….
